My children’s home
The Maison d'Enfants Saint-Druon has been welcoming children since 1889. Initially run by a religious congregation, it was taken over in the 1960s by the association La Table ronde, which founded the children’s home today under the aegis of the ARPE.
Home of life, learning, integration, the Maison d'Enfants Saint-Druon has an attic full of memories of the lives that grew up there. For 15 days, filmmaker Gilles Deroo coached the children of the house to create a fiction, Ma maison d'enfant, setting the place and the neighbourhood, with the children becoming actors, technicians and directors. The screening of the film and its making-of is accompanied by an exhibition on the history of the Children’s House.
Project coordinated by the Ville d'art et d'histoire de Cambrai and the Maison d'Enfants, as part of the national operation «C'est mon patrimoine» 2022.
