In dialogue with the famous European Heritage Days that take place every year in September, the Hauts-de-France Movement organizes the Journées du Matrimoine to promote real equality between women and men in the arts and culture sectors.
In this context, and with the support of this movement, the artist Mercedes Klausner presents the exhibition FILTRE MAGIQUE that will be held in the former Poor Clares Monastery in Roubaix on September 17 and 18, 2022.
A collection of invisible portraits of many women creators and intellectuals unknown or forgotten in history will line the corridor of the monastery cloister. Hand-engraved on glass, these representations will only be visible if visitors light them with the torches of their mobile phones.
The collection is in turn constituted with the help of the public, who suggested their own admired personalities by responding to a call made by the artist on social networks during a given period.

Our cultural heritage consists of our heritage (what comes from fathers) and our matrimoine (what comes from mothers). By reactivating the notion of matrimoine, a term that existed since the Middle Ages, the HF Movement wishes to enhance the memory of creators, intellectuals and scientists of the past by contributing to the transmission and visibility of the works and works of those that preceded us.
