The Francis Salabert Ensemble is composed of five Belgian classical musicians, all living in the Flemish province of Antwerp.
The ensemble takes its name from Francis Salabert (1884-1946), an innovative and influential French music publisher in the first half of the twentieth century. Salabert’s musical heritage includes, in addition to a large collection of light music, more serious and classical compositions.
The program of the Church of Saint-Pierre d'Ault is entirely in line with the Salabert collection. Music from the 18th to the 20th century, from Bach to Bernstein. The first part is devoted to classical compositions. The second part takes a lighter approach.

The construction of the church of St Pierre began in 1341, at the site of a castral chapel, After the destruction of the parish church of Notre-Dame in the lower town by violent storms at the end of the sixteenth century, it replaced it definitively. The exterior construction is characterized by a decorative assemblage in checkerboard, alternating white stones, extracted from local quarries, and flints «pinched» (or exploded). The flat church bell tower consists of a curious massive keep. At its northeast corner stands a thin watchtower, giving it the status of «ecclesiastical belfry». A communal charter was granted in 1382 by Jean d'Artois, Comte d'Eu, seigneur of St Valéry and Ault-sur-Mer, and by his wife, Isabelle de Melun, so that the “Mayor, aldermen and bourgeois may have a belfry with large and small bells, and ring them whenever they please”. The spotter alerted the population in the event of danger during the Hundred Years War. The charter thus instituted an unusual division
