Champs d'Érable, 52360 Andilly-en-Bassigny
Gallo-Roman villa of which thermal baths, particularly well kept(preserved) on 800 m2 area and residential part(party) (leave urbana), on near(about) a hectare, testifies its past wealth. Agricultural part(party) (leave rustica) remain to a great extent to study. The first discoveries go back up(raise) in 1832\. The building work of the train line Mirecourt-Chalindrey, in 1878, crosses important vestiges. In 1895, the priest of Andilly begins(undertakes) excavations(searches), two rooms and the frigidarium are brought out(loosened) then recorked. Finally, the Company(Society) of Natural sciences and of Archaeology of the Haute-Marne manages excavations(searches) from 1961\. In 1965, the site becomes property of the General Council. Vestiges will be listed(classified) in conformance with(for) historic monuments in 1986\.
