About the location

Église luthérienne de la confession d'Augsbourg
41 Rue Mazelle, 57000 Metz
  • Moselle
  • Grand Est
Built in 1893 by Lutheran, the church is the second Protestant place of worship built in Metz in the course of German Annexation after the temple of the garrison. The Augustan Confession, written by Melanchthon in 1531, is the founding text of Lutheranism which is the theology based(established) from papers and thoughts of Martin Luther. Architecture of style simple and uncluttered neo-revival. Stone facade of Jaumont. The wooden forums(stands) supported(born) by fine small columns in cast iron give rhythm to the internal space. The narrow and irregular configuration of plot of land imposes a natural lighting from above of octagonal shape. Only the chorus(choir) is lighted(enlightened) of five wide bays(berries).
