Parvis de la Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul
Place Saint-Pierre, 10000 Troyes
A marvel of Gothic architecture, it has one of the largest historiated glass windows in France, with stained glass windows from the 13th century in the choir, and dated from the 15th and 16th centuries in the nave.
Since 1793, it also houses the organ of the abbey of Clairvaux.
Its treasure contains a remarkable collection of shrines (including that of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, restored according to the plans of Viollet-le-Duc), relics, limousin enamels, insignia and goldsmiths.
Notable ensembles include a Byzantine purple ivory casket (15th century), the chaplains of the Counts of Champagne (14th century), the enamels of the chief reliquary of Saint Loup (16th century) and the goldsmith’s chapel of Edouard Colbert (17th century).
The cathedral was declared a Historic Monument in 1862.
