On May 20, 1879, a promise of sale was signed with Léon Toulouse for a plot of 2.53 acres. Solay, a building expert, was asked to build a washhouse there, which was fed by water derived from the Saint-Bernard stream (tributary of La Vanne). On June 5, 1880, the work was entrusted to contractor Ernest Vaillot of Laines-aux-Bois.
Rectangular in plan, the building is built of brick and covered with mechanical tile. The pool is completely lined with washing stones.
