The boarding school Sainte-Philomène was based(established) by 1860 by the Congregation of the Sœurs de la Divine Providence of Ribeauvillé for the education of the girls. In 1882, the Congregation purchases of the house Schmidt, a robust building(ship) which served as attic with hop and that was transformed into rooms of classes. A chapel is built in honour of saint Philomène on the location of stables and barns there. It is finished(ended) and dedicated by Mgr Stumpf November 15th. It is possible to admire stained-glass windows of the master(teacher)-glazier Tristan Ruhlmann and as well as a wooden Madonna and Child there dated of 1866 and signed by the sculptor J. Glatz.
