Meet Jean-François Maillet, a local writer, during a conference during which he will share his passion for writing by presenting his way of writing, his sources of inspiration, etc.

Jean-François Maillet is a writer of crime novels, thrillers, detective novels and heroin-fantasy for youth.
Born in Reims, he is currently a kindergarten teacher in Esternay. He discovered “Ten Little Negroes” at the age of 12 and started writing. Until the age of twenty, he wrote about thirty novels on notebooks, never published.
Loving to tell stories, he discovered the pleasure of working with style and words around the age of thirty by telling the life of his grandmother who knew the two world wars.
Passionate about crime novels, he wrote five detective novels and two thrillers. He also released a fantastic trilogy, The Dragon Race, in collaboration with his son Edwin.
For his new thriller, released in October 2021, he wanted to talk about Brittany and especially the islands of the Iroise Sea. He made several stays on the island of Ouessant and he fell in love with this region. He also wanted to evoke Agatha Christie.

The church was built of millstone in the 12th century, then enlarged in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. It has a Latin cross plan. Its porch, also known as a caquetory (a place where people chat) or narthex, dates from the 13th century.
The nave, dating from the first part of the 12th century, is the oldest part of the church. It leads to a 13th century transept. The latter was enlarged and doubled in the 15th century, when the choir was also erected.
Most of the stained glass windows date from the 16th century. You can admire a 1540 stained glass window dedicated to the life of the Virgin and fragments representing Saint John the Baptist, Saint Beard and Saint Edme. The other stained glass windows date from the 18th and 20th centuries. The stalls come from the monastery of the Cordeliers of Châlons-en-Champagne.
The stained-glass window of Christ on the cross dates from the 17th century. It was donated by Louis de Hangest, the squire of Anne of Brittany. This glass is framed b
