Médiathèque Croix-Rouge
19 rue Jean-Louis Debar, 51100 Reims
Opened in 2003, it is the second largest media library in the network.
If the Water Castle is imposing by its mass, its height, the media library responds to it by its length, its horizontality. Faced with the opacity of the first, the glazed aspect of the second will reveal its activity. The choice of materials reinforces these principles: large glass facades corresponding to the reception and exhibition spaces […]. A common square on Debar Street, oriented towards the residents of the neighbourhood and the public transit lines that serve it, will connect the two buildings and create a public space.” (Serge and Lipa Goldstein, architects).
