In about fifteen panels, the exhibition traces the origins of the Anabaptist movement and the creation of the Amish group by Jacob Amann in 1693 in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines.
She then focuses on the departure of the Amish in the United States, and the evolution of their way of life. The exhibition is enhanced by the presentation of original documents and traditional amish quilts.

The Centre of Interpretation(Performance) of Architecture and of the Heritage of the Val d' Argent (CIAP) gives you keys for reading to include the environmental and architectural evolution of the Val d' Argent, across its history(story). The landscape of the valley manufactured by the presence of borders, by the exploitation(operation) of silver mines, by its agricultural and forest activities and by its textile industry. To face(deal with) the crisis of the textile(textile industry) in 1960s, the Val d' Argent began(affected) his economic and urban reconversion. To arrest this environmental evolution, the exhibition(exposure) of CIAP leans on a card(map) relief, a full of life digital tool which allows you to discover the geographical and geological executive(frame) of the territory. It gets organised then in five thematic furniture, equipped with multimedia devices(plans), explaining the environmental imprints left by presence of borders, by industrial and agricultural activities. Exhibition(Exposure) ends by the presentation(display) of contemporary orientations in terms of town and country planning.
