After a visit to the Bollée wind turbine, an emblematic figure of our municipality, we will travel to meet three of the seven mills along the Eure River. We will evoke the heritage and technical history of these, thus combining air and water as a source of sustainable energy.

This great “iron lady” symbol of industrial know-how of the late 19th century was installed in 1902 by the Lebert company, originally from Le Mans. It operates a patent filed by Ernest Bollée in 1868\. Perched on a 15-metre tower, its majestic turbine measures --5 metres in diameter. A reel, thanks to a set of gears, ensures the precise and permanent orientation of the turbine perpendicular to the wind and ensures optimum efficiency. A shaft transmits the mechanical force to a submerged pump ensuring a maximum flow rate of 4 m3/h in a wind of 7 m/s. Filling a raised concrete tank that is now gone, it will do its job until the facility is connected to the city’s water system.
