The work began in January 2021 and was completed in April 2022. The building is fully restored and designed for library use. Â Note that eight doors and windows dating from the 15th century, which were completely invisible, were newly opened. After the completion of the works, the transfer of books began in May 2022 and will be very advanced in September.
The building has a ground floor (reading room) and two floors for the storage of books and for the staff rooms of the library.

Built in the middle of the 15th century, this building was the eastern end of the Logis des Gouverneurs from which it was separated in the 19th century, to rectify the Rue des Maures. It is built on the outline of the Gallo-Roman wall of the fourth century, along the Loire. Following the administrative formalities carried out in 2020 and slowed down by the containment, the restoration and adaptation of the building began in January 2021 with the roof. At the time of this visit, the construction of the interior layout of the building is completed with the creation of the three levels of activities that will comprise this future library.
