Château féodal
Château 41160 Fréteval
- Loir-et-Cher
- Centre-Val de Loire
The feudal castle of Fréteval, on its original site of 4,50 hectares, presents a donjon real witness(baton) of the first generation of donjons at once circular and stone. It was a centre of tumultuous relations between Plantagenêt and the Kingdom of France: meeting between Thomas Becket and Henry II Plantagenêt, fight between Philippe-Augustus and Richard Cœur de Leo.
