Dependence of the castle of Boucard, the architectural ensemble of the Gravel pit is remarkable for its unity(unit). They find in his(her,its) construction the old(former) techniques implemented from the XVIth century (half-timberings, cobs, walls of stones of black stone, of flint and of limestone, canopy pronounced above barn doors, very tinted coatings, flat tile, etc.) and his(her,its) plan is representative (house or farm building) of the most part of the inside of the Country - Hardly.
The Gravel pit originates was a mill with wheat. A reach, fed by Sauldre, allowed to make turn(shoot) the wheel the location of the axis of which is still visible. The building(ship) in which was this mill was transformed into house while the accommodation(housing) of origin, located in the building(ship) opposite, was redeployed to shed adjoining the barn. The fragmented (court(yard), garden, chènevière, pool, meadow, fields) was not redefined. Since its transformation(processing) of mill there locature or manœuvrerie at the beginning of the XVIIth century the Gravel pit kept(preserved), on the whole its original aspect what makes an exception.
