A white dome, in the middle of vineyards(vines), overhangs the valley of Vienna(Vienne) at a height of 105 m. Built from 1988 till 1990, the astronomical observatory of Chinon is operational since 1991\. It is livened up(led) by the association Astronomy in Chinonais.
