Modality of visits:

Saturday 17 September only, 45-minute guided tours, with prior registration on the prefecture’s website
6 slots of guided tours are proposed as follows: 9.30 am, 10.30 am and 11.30 am; 2.15 pm, 3.15 pm and 4.15 pm in the afternoon;
each group is limited to 20 people.
Program:
word of welcome in the courtyard of honor of the prefecture, visit of the lounges of the hotel of the prefecture, presentation of the garden, visit of the office of Mister the prefect in his presence.

Big(Great) building(ship) of rectangular plan with garden in the front and park sported in the back. The main facade gets organised around a central forepart, in double doric and ionic portico(gantry) crowned with a front wall(pediment). This neoclassical building(ship) characterises the sobriety of the public architecture of 1830s. The hotel of the prefecture receives(holds) the very beautiful whole furniture of the XIXth century (of time(period) Charles X) among which a lounge(show) and a billiards(billiard table) conceived(designed) for this house by the cabinet maker Bellangé, supplier of the crown. Some beautiful furniture of time(period) of the XVIIIth century of sometimes prestigious provenance softens line sober of these a bit severe rooms(parts,plays), in the characteristic woodworks of 1830s. Responding to his/her/its vocation, this house is the place of welcome(reception) by the prefect of many personalities and of several hundred people, from all social, professional and invited backgrounds every year to participate in one of many organised ceremonies.
