Built in 1109, the manorial fortress of Montrichard was built by the count of Anjou Coots Nerra on a natural rocky spur which dominates the valley of the Dear. Beyond the donjon, a medieval heritage deserves to be discovered in the city(estate). The site shelters currently archaeological and ethnological museums. The rich ethnological, paleontological, archaeological museums and the molinologique, installed(settled) on the site visit as well as the dividing medieval prison cells which are only opened on the occasion of Heritage Days.
