The Dunoise Society is a cultural association that was founded in Châteaudun in 1864 and recognized as a public utility in 1878\. Initially, one of his main concerns was to prevent the dispersal and even destruction of many archaeological objects found a short distance from the city. Today, after more than a century and a half of existence, the Dunoise Society is striving to pursue other missions, through the dissemination of publications, the organization of visits, exhibitions or conferences. Its library, consisting of thousands of books and archives from private sources, has become over the years a real documentation centre, accessible by appointment.
