The fort and lighthouse will be open to the public as part of the JEP. It will be possible to access the lighthouse gallery (waiting possible) and visit two renovated rooms of the fort.

Fort and Penfret Lighthouse (18th century) The fort is a 1846 model built around 1855. It was used over 3 periods (1860-1889, 1914-1918, 1939-1945). Two rooms have been renovated and will be visited during a guided tour. It will also be possible to climb to the lighthouse gallery (in small groups of 5).

The Penfret Lighthouse was lit in 1838\. Access to the gallery is possible after a climb of 95 steps. Next to the lighthouse, in the same enclosure, is a 19th century fort, built in 1861\. Inside, there are a few rooms that allow you to discover the history of the Lighthouse and the Fort of the Second Empire to the present day.
