Chapelle Saint-Samson
route touristique 29840 Landunvez
The site and location of the chapel were already a place of worship in prehistoric times, a menhir, now extinct, located near the chapel, was long venerated. The presence of a Gallic stele in the south attests to a sacred place in Celtic times. The place was then Christianized: two granite crosses dating from the High Middle Ages are located, next to the fountain and next to the chapel.
The chapel is dated 1785\. It is very likely that before this date one or more chapels existed on this site since, in his May 29, 1689, Rannou, rector of Landunvez, told his parishioners "Tomorrow we will go to Saint Samson, pray for the King’s armies and obtain peace"
