Time has preserved granite megaliths, but man, for various reasons, has often recovered them, "recycled", transformed, destroyed… and sometimes even fixed his mistakes by restoring them…

Menhir dit de Saint-Duzec
Route du menhir, 22560, Pleumeur Bodou

The menhir of Saint Uzec was Christianized in the second half of the 17th century. Surmounted by a cross, his sculptures - once painted - represent the Passion of Christ. The mass of the menhir, its size (5m90 above the ground), its back furrowed with vertical lines reminiscent of a mourning mantis, the summit cross and sculptures give it its singular silhouette. A unique and particularly impressive monument that illustrates the considerable efforts made by the clergy in the 17th century to spread and strengthen the Faith among peasant populations.
