The theme of this new edition of the European Heritage Days will be "Sustainable Heritage".
Our five sites that open their doors for free on this occasion offer many activities throughout the weekend to allow you to explore sometimes the annual theme, sometimes the plural riches of our sites.
The five sites of Chemins du patrimoine in Finistère: the Abbaye de Daoulas, the Château de Kerjean, the Manoir de Kernault, the Abbaye du Relec and the Domaine de Trévarez – are open for free for these two days.

Built between 1893 and 1907, the Domain of Trévarez is the realisation of the dream of a man. Ambitious man, James de Kerjegu chooses prestigious architects, Destailleur, to make concrete the expression of his success. Man in his/her time, he(it) endows the castle of the most innovative technical equipments at this end of the 19th century... Interactive devices(plans) allow to seize the modernity of the place, but also " the Belle Epoque ", period with the construction of the castle, and especially the complex personality of her sponsor(sleeping partner), James de Kerjégu. Under its neo-Gothic architectural envelope - fashionable style in the second half of the 19th - the «pink castle» from Trévarez, hides the most innovative technical elements of time(period): metallic structure, electricity, central heating by pipelines of hot water, internal telephone, elevator, goods lift.. .. Recognised «Heritage of the 20th century» in 2004, the domain of Trévarez was also labelled " remarkable Garden " in 2006 for its park created in 1900, in «mixed style» then characteristic of the French gardens. In a rural environment where they get clearer in the lamp with oil and where the water in the well, the castle of Trévarez and its park is going to be looked come into sight ex nihilo in Centre Brittany such of perfect emblems of the luxury, of comfort, of progress.
