The TAIL COAT(FRAC) Bourgogne: a history(story), an evolution. Arisen in 1983 from a partnership between the Ministry of Culture and Communication and the Region Bourgogne, the TAIL COAT(FRAC) Burgundy has as mission the constitution and management of a collection of contemporary art, as well as promotion(class) and distribution(broadcasting) of 650 works, representing 240 artists, which make(compose) it up. A visible(obvious) movie in the "Baths of the North", the birth of the collection redraws. The works of the collection are presented through temporary exhibitions(exposures), or circulate(run) by means of long-lasting(sustainable) loan or deposit(warehouse) in region Bourgogne, in France and on the international stage. Finally, the TAIL COAT(FRAC) leads awareness-raising activities to contemporary art and training(formation), to affect(touch) the widest possible public. Every year since 1984, the collection grows rich of new works proposed by a technical Committee of purchase compound(made up) of personalities of the world of contemporary art chosen for their expertise. Today 23 TAIL COAT(FRAC) are so divided on all national territory and all the collections include 20 000 works of 5 000 artists. In 2013, a politics(policy) and new orientations are committed(hired). The TAIL COAT(FRAC) Bourgogne intends to concentrate more than ever on its missions of origin." The Baths of the North": the space of exhibition(exposure) of the TAIL COAT(FRAC) Bourgogne in Dijon. On May 18th, 2013, the TAIL COAT(FRAC) Bourgogne inaugurated its new permanent place of exhibition(exposure) in the regional capital, "The Baths of the North". This space of 500 m2, old(former) public baths, then electrical goods store, has already made the object of a rehabilitation in 1980s, becoming spaces it out of exhibition(exposure) of the Contemporary Arts Centre The Consortium. Persuaded of the necessity of a pedagogy of look, the TAIL COAT(FRAC) Bourgogne proposes, in touch with main exhibition(exposure), exhibition(exposure)-workshop confided(entrusted) to a creator, aimed at(bound for) all, from 5 years.
