The current Abbey of Corbigny dates from 1754\. A foundation stone, visible at the foot of the southern facade of the monument, attests to this work that the Revolution interrupted. From 1789, the abbey knew various uses: the Haras de l'État settled there during the Consulate and the Empire, it was rented in 1834 to the bishopric of Nevers to establish the Minor Seminary. In 1850, the bishop transferred his lease to the Société Hospitalière, to the asylum and to the brothers of the Christian Doctrine of Nancy. Eight years later, the École Normale d'Instituteurs moved there. In 1888, it was the turn of a primary school and an elementary school… before a complementary course in 1889\. The year 1894 marked the opening of a practical school of agriculture in a monument that the First World War converted into a military hospital. From 1962 to 1983, complementary courses and general education college followed one another in the walls, to the great glory of the territory’s children. The abbey
