Built in the middle of the twelfth century on the edge of a plateau, facing the plain of Lure, Oricourt is a fortified castle with double walls (lower court and high court). Two square towers 25 metres high dominate the curtains and deep ditches.
Outside, on the village side, was erected an imposing dovecote. In this rare medieval complex, you will discover stables, wells, cistern, bakery, cellars, large kitchen, chapel and other rooms. Lefty, Burgundy County Constable is Lord of Oricourt around 1170.
At the end of the Middle Ages, it is the Chancellor of Burgundy Nicolas Rolin, immortalized by Van Eyck and founder of the Hospices of Beaune, who owns it. Oricourt is currently the best preserved castle of Franche-Comté.
When you arrive at the reception, a written document will be given to you that will allow you to discover the castle with a plan, photographs and the necessary indications for each accessible room.
