Since before the First World War, the Hôtel du Nivernais has been a monumental building on the heights of Vieux-Vauzelles, not far from Nevers' equipment workshops.
Its function was to contain the single workers and apprentices of the train, from 1919, in their 180 rooms.
Huge, with its floors and massive architecture, typical of this Art Deco era, due to the combined efforts of Colonel Rimalho and Georges Hennequin, it gives the replica to the housing of the city cheminote, schools, formerly of girls and boys, all close and is integrated into a thematic industrial landscape, typical of the railway.
