It was Jean Henri de Chassey, whose initials adorned the wrought iron railings, who had it built in 1745.

At the revolution, seized by the State, it served as a military warehouse and was left to the abandonment. Restored by Monsieur and Madame Bréon-Claret in 1875, they added their family emblem to the basket above the monumental portal of more than 2 tons.

At the end of its first terrace one can admire one of the most beautiful views of the city and its collegiate church.
