The Fort of Bessoncourt, located 6 km east of Belfort, is one of 15 strong Séré of Rivers establishing(constituting) the strengthened belfortaine belt. Established from 1883 till 1886, then reinforced in 1889, on 1894 in 1896\. This fort is very representative of the evolution of the strong servicemen of the end of the XIXth century. His(Her,Its) area is 5 hectares, (6 hectares with ditches(gaps). He(It) is in the front line facing a German invasion from Alsace.
