Chapelle de l'Hopital d'Alise-Sainte-Reine
26 rue de l'hôpital, 21150 Alise-Sainte-Reine
- Côte-d'Or
- Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
A hospital founded in 1659, at the initiative of the devotees of the Society of the Blessed Sacrament, to welcome pilgrims who had come to take the waters of the miraculous spring that had sprung in the place of the martyrdom of Saint Queen (circa 253). The site, still the site of a hospitable activity, preserves in its historical part the heritage accumulated over a rich history: paintings of the chapel, furniture and pots of the apothecary, archives, library .... In particular, 13 monumental paintings (painted between 1625 and 1650 to serve as models for a series of tapestries intended for the Church of Saint Eustache in Paris) tell the story of Queen, her martyrdom, her worship, her martyrdom, her worship. It is a unique piece of French painting from the 17th century and has just been completely restored.
