Before the Revolution and the annexation of Pradelles to the Haute-Loire in 1790, Gévaudan, Velay and Vivarais had a small parliament with the same powers as the current departmental council. The Pradelains paid for the tithe for the prior of Langogne, the size for the king harvested by the receiver, and the censive for the local seigneur, harvested by the farmer of the seigneurery.
Pradelles counted up to 2,000 inhabitants, 25 drinking establishments, 23 weavers, seven lawyers, 23 hat-makers and a garrison of 35 men. On the way to the Régordane, the town is a stop for pilgrims, but also a crossroads of merchants that will grow, between the plains of the Languedoc and the valleys of Cévenoles that come to trade wine and oil for food.
