Guided tour of the Casamaures and the gardens of the orangery
La Casamaures, listed as a historical monument since 1986, stands on the banks of the Isère, in Saint-Martin-le-Vinoux, at the gates of Grenoble and accessible by tram E. This Moorish palace in moulded cement, built in the middle of the 19th century, the know-how of the cement moulders involved in its construction. The association Casamaures d'Hier et d'Aujourd'hui also restores artistic life in the gardens of the orangery, the latest creation being an entrance gate surmounted by the panoramic view of the Vercors in co-visibility, as well as weathervanes in the shape of stars turning to the wind. Walkers will discover a cosmopolitan path adorned with sculptures in "grey gold" and a sign language path. In addition, the gardens of the orangery live in the hour of nature thanks to the sundials calculated by the Atelier Tournesol.
The visit of this orientalist monument is guided, however you can come to discover the orangery and its gardens, in free and free access. Registration is via the website of Casamaures, a participation of 8€ is requested for adults and the visit is free for those under 18 years.
