Arts en Chœur In 1993, the idea germa de realiza work of sacred art in the church of Saint Jean de Chevelu and it is this work which is currently the main artistic and heritage interest of the church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste. With its renovated bell tower, the building occupies a privileged position at the foot of the vineyard of Monthoux, overlooking the lakes of Chevelu and at the crossroads of hiking trails; it arouses interest and curiosity to discover the contemporary work of sacred art that it now houses.
The pictorial work of the church The current paintings on canvas were made by Béatrice Signorelli and Étienne Voulhoux of the Atelier Tardieu de Loisieux. After reflecting on certain passages of the Bible with Father Michel Euler, these two artists gave their inspiration to artists and after three years of volunteer work, the paintings were inaugurated in 1996 by Bishop Marcel Perrier (1933-2017), year of the 150th anniversary of the Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste.
