On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the LPO in Auvergne and the Durianne Castle combine historical, cultural and natural heritage.
Invited by Durianne Castle to participate in their event*, the LPO offers a set of nature games for children to make them aware of the protection of our natural heritage and to amaze them with nature in a fun way.

Find out more about Durianne Castle and its peasant farm: Perched above the river, Durianne Castle has been watching over the entrance of the Loire Gorges since the end of the 15th century. Emblematic example of the Velay fortified houses, the residence skillfully mixes the characteristics of Renaissance architecture with discrete defensive elements, all in a green setting of the most picturesque. The house is in the Balme family of Garay since 1836\. Associated with the castle, the organic farm is dedicated to the conservation of ancient local endangered breeds. Thus you can meet the flock of sheep Bizet, watched by the shepherd dog Noah, horses of Auvergne of which there remain only six hundred individuals in France. You will certainly be accompanied in your visit by a joyful barnyard that wanders where it pleases, just as in the farms of yesteryear!
