Exhibition "On the footsteps of Jean Dubuffet in Auvergne"
Jean Dubuffet, a major figure of the 20th century whose prolific work and thought have had a lasting impact on the artistic scene, has attracted a significant number of exhibitions in France and abroad. However, its connection with the Auvergne had never before been studied as such. The Auvergne was especially for Dubuffet a land of inspiration and friendships, where he forged ties with Henri Pourrat, and later with Alexandre Vialatte and Philippe Kaeppelin. The exhibition also pays tribute to Lili Dubuffet, whose presence and role have often been diminished in the artist’s biography. It finally opens a new perspective on the history of raw art, highlighting the roots of Auvergne sculptures known as «Barbus Müller».
