The Municipal Archives of the City of Aix-les-Bains will present on Place Maurice Mollard, from September 17 to December 3, 2022, a new outdoor and open-access exhibition: Des projets plein les cartons, un siècle de projets non réalisés, 1880-1980.
At each time, many construction projects are emerging, whether municipal or private, and are abandoned as plans, for various reasons: lack of credits, death of protagonists, etc. Projects that are sometimes ambitious, of a daring architecture, and whose drawings lie dormant in the boxes of archives. It is interesting, in our time, to look back on these ancient projects, which sometimes leave us a little regret, other times make us grow a puff of relief.
