Gendarmerie School of Montluçon
Located in the Richemont Barracks since August 1, 1976, the Montluçon gendarmerie school has trained nearly 45,000 gendarmes.
Built between 1910 and 1913, the barracks now houses 11 training companies.
The European Heritage Days are an opportunity to reveal the history of the barracks but also the undercurrents of the gendarme’s training.
On the program: the presentation of the obstacle course (or obstacle course) and demonstrations of professional intervention (team of motorcyclists, team dog). The members of the air section will present their missions and the helicopter of the national gendarmerie, exceptionally present this day on the Place d'Armes of the school (subject to favorable climatic conditions). A first aid workshop will allow volunteers to learn first aid actions. A crime scene simulation will immerse visitors in the heart of the investigation (child-friendly version).
Game of puzzles, shooting workshop and guided tour of the hall of honor and traditions will complete the day.
Possibility of restoration on site.
