Built on the surface, in reinforced concrete, the Zeiterholz shelter astonishes by its mission. Composed of rooms of life (kitchen, infirmary, rooms) and a factory, it raises the pan on a function often unknown of the Maginot Line: the housing of the interval troops. Its soldiers were present to ensure a continuous defense between the structures and the casemates and thus avoid the «holes» between the fortifications.
