Discovery of the bowels of a medieval tower

Guided by the night watchman, guardian of the tower of Anglemein, you will discover the mysterious secrets that the tower preserves since the thirteenth century...
After crossing the picturesque garden, you will enter the main corridor of the tower, which has been listed as a historic monument since 2002. You will discover a slideshow of the restoration of the frame and images commented by your host. It will tell you the history of this part of the medieval enclosure of Rambervillers, erected by the Bishop of Metz, Jacques de Lorraine, around 1255.
Then you will discover the inner curtain and the remains of the wall of the medieval fortification.
You will also have the chance to see, for a «grand premiere», the last piece of work to safeguard the buttresses of dykes that rise on the south face of the tower, in the old ditches filled to this day.
Unusual objects tracing the history of the places are also on display.
This development of the east side of the tower was undertaken at the end of 2020 and lasted until mid-2021. The visit will therefore be unprecedented and exceptional!
