Built from 1220 in the part of Santenay then called Narosse, Saint John is then a chapel. It did not become a parish church until around 1270. It is then formed of a nave flanked by two collaterals in late Romanesque style, with probably a flat choir surmounted by a comb bell tower. Several restoration projects, until the last one that has just ended (2004 ), have allowed to restore its aspect of the XVth century.

Listed as a Historical Monument in 1926, this church reveals many singularities for those who know how to observe them... It is the witness of the various spiritual influences of this place associated with the Mont de Sène called the 3 Crosses (formerly temple dedicated to Mercury, Roman burials, dolmen...) and the Bois de la Fée (druidic gatherings, the legend of the villains) that overlook the monument, but also to the many sources with virtues recognized for millennia. The church of Saint John (Baptist) in Narosse was built in the 13th century in a simple Romanesque style. Its choir was rebuilt in Gothic style at the end of the 15th century, then at the end of the 16th many renovations are undertaken: roof and bell tower, wooden porch, portal with rounded tympanum, lattices, etc. Inside, polychrome wooden statues, a magnificent"Vierge Terrassant le Dragon" in alabaster (1660), one litre, a piece of fresco evoking Saint-Michel discovered during the last restoration completed in 2004,
