The church of Saint-Pierre was the church of the village of Coulmier and the church of Saint-Martin that of the village of Mutigny. The two villages merged in 1798 under the name of "La Chaussée", which became "La Chaussée-sur-Marne" in 1904.
Saint-Pierre Church of the 11th and 12th centuries is a Romanesque building in chalk, with a polygonal bedside inspired by the Rhine, classified as a historical monument in 1930\. It presents several statues classified as historical monuments.
The church of Saint-Martin, also of Romanesque style and in chalk, dates from the twelfth century. It has a bell from 1523 and baptismal fonts classified as historical monuments. A beautiful stained glass window of 1966, made by Mr. Moret master glassmaker, represents Saint Martin.
