The current farm called «des Templiers» was rebuilt in the seventeenth century on the ruins of a strong house dating from the Middle Ages; at that time, the nobility without seigneurial rights could only build defensive buildings of this type. In the 16th century, when the Artois belonged to Charles V, it was destroyed by the French garrison of Thérouanne. It was part of a vast agricultural estate belonging to the Fléchin family until the revolution. It was taken over in the nineteenth century by the family of Solminihac. The lands of the estate were dispersed between the two world wars. Our fortified farm is located in the village of Enquin-les-Mines, on 1 hectare of wooded park bordered by the river «surjeon» in the place called «Fléchinelle» at the exit of the village towards Cuhem - Fléchin.
