Aquitanis, public service(office) of the housing environment of Bordeaux Métropole, invites you to discover, with the guide Yves Simone, the City(Estate) Claveau.
Just after the Second World War, while needs in accommodation(housing) are prégnants, the City(Estate) Claveau, his(her,its) 485 housing and his(her,its) equipments are done up. To echo its rural character, the site is conceived(designed) as a planned town: the «village Claveau».
In spite of real assets(trump cards), the city(estate) needed to reinvent because housing was not adapted any more to the current needs and the common(shared) and public spaces had lost their qualities. By respecting already and by drawing inspiration from the spirit of the place, an ambitious project of requalification is committed(hired) since 2016. He(It) aims at making a model of transition: a planned town updated, opened on the metropolis and co-built with his inhabitants. Auto-rehabilitation of houses, co-conception(co-design) of the common(shared) spaces, tree nurseries standing and maintained by the inhabitants, circular and co-operative agro-urban activities discover ecological and united dynamics which liven up(lead) the actors of this project and above all his inhabitants.
