82 rue de Villiers, 78300 Poissy, France
Villa named "Les Heures Claires", built from 1929 to 1931 by the architects Le Corbusier and his cousin and associate Pierre Jeanneret for the family of Pierre Savoye, wealthy administrator of an insurance company. "Placed in the middle of the grass like an object", the villa is located on a vast plot free of any constraint. Built in reinforced concrete, it constitutes a manifesto of the Corbusier ideas in five points for a new architecture (the construction on stilts, the roof-garden, the free plan, the free facade and the long window). The building has a garage for three cars, the curve of the access road printing on the ground floor plan. Mistreated before and during the Second World War, the villa was saved following an international petition. It is now open to visitors following the restoration work carried out since 1963 (structural works and interior paintings).
