For its opening, SaSA invited MAMCO to develop a specific artistic intervention. The choice fell on the work of Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, more precisely on several works related to archaeology.
For over twenty-five years, this artist duo has been developing a practice that blends images, investigations and research. Presented here, works Palimpsests, Time Capsules and Trilogies invite us to look beneath the surface of our cities, where invisible stories accumulate, plunging us into a temporal vertigo.
By creating a dialogue between memory, science and imagination, this first temporary exhibition at SaSA invites visitors to explore the site as a space for grounding and experimentation, where the territory becomes a shared place for knowledge, uses and contemporary creations.
