The MAHPP is a territorial museum showcasing the rich collections of the City of Art and History of Pontoise which come from the historical collection of the city at the Tavet-Delacour museum (currently closed for important works) and from the collection of the Camille Pissarro museum created in 1980.
A selection of works from these exceptional collections is presented to you within the itinerary bringing together works from the 17th to the 21st century, titled 'From Landscape to Abstraction'. This exhibition highlights a number of artists rooted in the history of the territory of Pontoise and its surroundings such as Camille Pissarro and his sons, 1800s, Caillebotte, Daubigny, Cabat, Boggio, Marcoussis, Matisse, Valmier, Hayet, Goldfarb, Rodin, Arp, Breuer, Zadkine, Piette, etc.
Upstairs, the two rooms of the graphic arts studio allow you to discover the collection of more than 3000 drawings, photographs and prints by MAHPP, from Bouchardon to Picasso, via Caillebotte, Camille Pissarro, Béliard, Lefuel, Jiménez, Le Lorrain, Thornley and so many others.
The museum is housed in a beautiful house from the late 19th century located on the site of the old castle overlooking the Oise. It thus enjoys a magnificent panorama over Pontoise and the Oise, from which visitors can also enjoy themselves from the park and the museum terrace where they are invited to settle down to continue the museum and heritage experience. (attention: the consumption of alcohol is prohibited there, please respect the premises by throwing your waste into the bin provided for this purpose).
The park, open during MAHPP hours, is accessible free of charge. Entry is through the museum reception.
