Exhibition created by the City of Sedan (museum of the fortified castle) with the exceptional participation of the Army Museum
Exhibition recognized as of national interest by the Ministry of Culture
Eight armors are exceptionally lent to the Museum of the Castle by the Army Museum (at the Invalides in Paris) which is currently under construction. They join two deposits of the Army Museum exhibited since June 2013.
Dating from the 16th century, these armors come from the gallery of antiques of the castle, which presented the collection of weapons and armor of the lords then princes of Sedan, known as the cabinet of arms of Bouillon-Turenne (16th-19th centuries).
Some were offered by the kings of France to the princes. You will be able to admire these armors which are among the most beautiful in France and in the world, real masterpieces!
Discover the history of these art objects, weapons cabinets and the practice of jousting in the 16th century.
Dive into the history of the fortified castle, a historical monument of remarkable military architecture, an impregnable fortress that is more than 600 years old!
