The Picasso collection created on site at the museum from mid-September to mid-November 1946 remains a set of remarkable homogeneity, through the subjects exploited, the creative process retained by the artist uniting figuration and post-cubism, and through the materials employed. (fiber cement, plywood, industrial paint). It constitutes the highlight of the summer production of Picasso made during his holidays in Antibes and Juan-les-Pins since 1920\. The museum’s collection of modern art also brings together major artists, with sets of unique works, such as the last and largest painting by Nicolas de Staël, Le Grand Concert, recognized as one of the masterpieces of the 20th century, the bronzes of Germaine Richier permanently displayed on the parapet of the terrace, the abstract canvases emblematic of the production of Hans Hartung and his wife Anna Eva-Bergman.
