12 Rue du Pont, 27200 Vernon, France
The Musée Blanche Hoschedé-Monet celebrates Impressionist creation on the Seine at the gates of Eure and Normandy, from Claude Monet to Pierre Bonnard. You will discover a large collection of landscapes of the Val de Seine and the great natural sites of Normandy, signed by artists of the famous Hoschedé-Monet-Butler family and American and foreign artists of the colony of Giverny. The museum also stands out for its unique collection of animal art, benefiting from prestigious deposits from the Louvre and Orsay museums. The collection of naturalized birds, at the origin of the museum, is alongside the works of Rembrandt Bugatti, Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen, Paul Jouve and François Pompon. This section illustrates an artistic and scientific history of natural heritage conservation since the industrial era. A place of discovery and wonder, the Blanche Hoschedé-Monet Museum regularly invites contemporary artists to dialog with heritage collections oriented toward representations of nature. A rich program of activities around its collections is offered throughout the year. In the heart of the rooms, educational and reading spaces are installed to offer visitors artistic and relaxing breaks. In short, a place to escape and think in the world and among the living.
