17 place du Trocadéro et du Onze Novembre, 75016 Paris, France
Designed for the 1937 International Exhibition, the Palais de Chaillot is the work of a team formed by architects Louis-Hippolyte Boileau, Jacques Carlu and Léon Azéma. It was built, from 1934, on the old structures of the Palais du Trocadéro, built by the architects Gabriel Davioud and Jules Bourdais for the 1878 World Fair. The central gap is decorated with gilded bronze statues. The two head pavilions are surmounted by monumental groups sculpted by Raymond Delamarre and Carlo Sarrabezolles. A plethora of artists collaborated on the interior decoration of the palace, which in 1997 houses the Musée de la Marine, the Musée de l'Homme, the Musée des Monuments français, the Cinémathèque française and the Théâtre national de Chaillot, former National Popular Theatre founded in 1938 and deeply revised in 1975.
